The 18W LED outdoor light is straightforward to install and produces bright white light over a reasonable part of my backyard. It replaces an old neon tube light that dated back to the 1990’s. The included universal mounting ring was easy to attach to a metal electrical access box that was built into the exterior brick next to the door during the construction of the house in the late 60’s. This fixture produces general area lighting, and is not particularly directional or glaring.

The unit is modular in construction, so when it goes out, I’ll need to replace the entire unit. That said, most LED fixtures are long lasting and I don’t use its particular location for security lighting, so I expect this to last as long as I need it to.

The light comes with a bag of screws to install the unit on a wall of wood or siding. The installation requires a medium Phillips head screwdriver for the four screws holding the light module together. If you mount it to a preinstalled electrical box as I did, you will need to provide the standard electrical box mounting screws required to attach the included universal mounting ring. It sounds more complicated than it really is. Because I was replacing an old fixture, I already had the screws needed. Mounting this unit was straightforward, and I expect many years of service from it.

This is a very nice looking light fixture that I use to light up a portion of the patio area, The lighting is excellent and would provide light for doing all kinds of tasks. It is definitely daylight in the immediate area of the fixture. Yes there are lots of light fixture on the market for less money but from my experience, and I have certainly installed a lot of light fixtures having worked for interior decorators, they are of a much lower quality. This light fixture has a very updated modern style and has quality built in. But for the money I don’t think you will find a better light fixture. While it is not the cheapest, just remember you get what you pay for.

This is a great outdoor light and has stood up to the rain so far. It is also very bright, I feel like I can see the full length of my driveway if I stand next to the light. For reference the driveway is two cars wide and 2.5 full-size sedans long. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were farther than that but there is a street light at the end of the driveway so I can’t say for sure.

If you are installing this on a flat surface it isn’t hard to install yourself. But on vinyl you’ll want to use a mounting block for vinyl siding otherwise it’ll be a more difficult install. You can find these on Amazon or a hardware store. Also where the old light was there was no junction box, just wires, so that also added to the difficulty because the instructions assume the presence of a junction box. It is still possible to install it with no junction box just use the anchors it comes with and screw it directly into the vinyl. You’ll want to use a 18 gauge drill bit to get it started if you are forgoing the anchors and just using screws and 14 gauge if you do use the anchor.

This next part is only an issue if you have an older home and the electrical wires don’t have an accompanying ground wire. The pre-exposed wire that the light itself isn’t very long. Less than the width of a pinky nail. It was a enough to pigtail the white and black wires, but since the house is older there was no ground wire coming from the house. The mounting plate on the light did have a spot to put a ground screw, but the pack did not come with a ground screw so I provided one. Since I didn’t have a ground wire to pigtail to the ground wire on the light, I needed that ground screw. But since there wasn’t enough exposed wire I had to stirp the wire some more to get enough that it would hold on the ground screw.

Overall, It’s a good product and I like it, I’ll definitely get more to match the other light fixtures on my exterior.

This light fixture really surpassed my expectations. The quality of the construction and design is very upscale. There is nothing cheap about this at all.
The light is a bright 6000k cool-white, and very even through the opaque enclosure. This should last a very long time. It will be easy to keep clean and is tightly sealed against dirt, dust and moisture. If you like the modern design, don’t hesitate getting this. The price is totally justified by the quality of the materials and solid construction. I love it.
